Industry and Practice

Working with the University of Reading

30 June 2017

We’ve been working in close collaboration with The University of Reading’s School of Architecture since it opened in 2016, assisting in the delivery of the Industry and Practice Module. Our focus has been to expose students to the architecture industry and bridge the gap between theory and practice to help prepare them for their professional careers.

As part of the module, we’ve designed and delivered a series of teaching sessions. These have included workshops, feasibility site visits, construction site visits, practice tours and interviews with different members of the studio.

The end of year show was a fantastic showcase of how much has been achieved in just one year!

New London Studio!

19 June 2017

We’re excited to announce the expansion of Ayre Chamberlain Gaunt and the opening of our new London studio! You can now find us at 277-281 Oxford Street, just a stone’s throw from Oxford Circus tube station.

Over the last few years we’ve grown considerably and our achievements have been recognised by the industry. Being named BD Young Architect of the Year was a significant milestone which reflected our successes to date and was a great way to mark the move.

Our portfolio includes a number of award-winning schemes in and around London, and the opening of our new studio will allow us to build on this and strengthen our relationships within the city.

Matthew Chamberlain and Emily Pallot will be heading up the London studio but our ‘one practice’ culture will ensure collaboration and movement between Hampshire and London.

As well as opening our new office we’ve also welcomed lots of talented people to the team. Check out the new faces here.

BIM Accreditation

27 March 2017

As a practice that is truly committed to BIM, we’re glad to now be certified as compliant with PAS 1192-2 by business standards company BSI. This means we’re compliant with the requirements for PAS 1192-2 covering design and construction for Level 2 BIM and assures our clients that the practice is BIM capable.

Re/Shaping London

11 November 2016

We’re delighted to have contributed to The London Society’s latest White Paper – Re/Shaping London: Unlocking Sustainable Growth in West London and Beyond – which sets out a radical agenda for change across England.

It includes proposals for a new ‘Green Web’ to be introduced to replace the ‘Green Belt’ – exploring the scope for change in the west of the capital, suggesting that a West London ‘Green Web’ could alone accommodate 100,000 new homes (equivalent to four new towns!) and includes demands for a new Garden City at Northolt Airport, new suburban railway and suburban densification.

You can download the document here.

Go Tigers!

1 June 2016

We’re proud to sponsor Chineham Tigers FC, a youth football club for boys and girls in Hampshire.

The Tigers have gone from strength to strength and the season has ended on a high with the U10s finishing third out of 24 teams at a recent tournament in Farnborough and the club has just been named Hampshire FA Charter Standard Club of the Year 2015/16.

Chris Redstone, team manager for U10s, on this season: ‘As an age group we have constantly focussed on repeating the basics such as “Always one to the ball”, “Pass and move” and my particular favourite “Harder, faster, stronger SMARTER!” so they have a clear understanding of what collectively their role is on the pitch along with an instruction specific to them and their position.

This year has seen blood, sweat and tears (not just from the coaches) pitch invasions from opposition fans, tantrums, downpours and frozen feet – but we wouldn’t change a thing.’

The summer brings lots more opportunities for the club including a nine-a-side U11 pre-season tournament at Bisham Abbey, a training base used by the England squad. The tournament kicks off on Saturday 27th August.

We wish the club the best of luck for the upcoming season and we’re proud to play a part in their ongoing success.
